Wednesday 14 November 2007: I have added my Physics of our Basic Universe theory to the collection of my writings in this web site.  It is based upon eleven fundamental premises I have put together.  If you can present a rational strong showing that any of these premises are incorrect I would be very interested to know, as well, I imagine, the rest of the scientific community.

The Physics and Polygonometry within this site began together quite a few years ago.  However they developed in parallel, independently.

My writings of physics began years ago upon a dare.  A gentleman was expounding about firing a bullet horizontally with the Earth's surface, and dropping a bullet from the same height at the same instant. The result being: both landing upon the ground at the same moment.  I remarked, that was true for classical physics, but if taken to extremes, they would not land at exactly the same instant.  A bit of a discussion ensued.  I related, if the bullet was projected strong enough, for example, it might go into orbit about the earth, and if it really had a head of steam, it might even make it into outer space. (Actually, a cannon was used in some of Newton's musing. So even in the classical era the thought existed about not hitting the ground at the same instant.)

Several other items were discussed, to wit, I offered some more, in depth opinion, which was not readily accepted by the classical physics of the group about me.  When they asked me how gravity worked, I answered "I did not know."  The reply was: "If you're so damn smart, why don't you figure it out?"

So, for over twenty years I have dabbled in and about physics generally associated with gravitation.  In the year 2000, I published a book of what I found, and mixed in my own reasoning.  I re-read my book from time to time, and I remain in general agreement still, but I have changed and expanded things a bit in places.  In this web site I am presenting most of my present thoughts and findings.  I think they may be of interest to the general public as well as the person with deeper knowledge of the subject.  Most, or all of which I present here is from other sources that I have read, and then I try to put them together into a logical consequence of my own. It is a very remote instance when a person has an original thought, never put forth before, and what I present is no exception.  But, I do take exception to much of what is out there, so maybe some existing thoughts put together in my fashion might have some measure of merit.

(12/27/06)  The search for the answer to gravitation... I have written a collection of my thoughts directed to what I think might be how gravitation works under the heading Commentary, at the end of this Physics section of my web site.  I moved much of this from under my heading Gravitation because I felt there was not enough substance to warrant it a good theory of gravitation, but only a group of pretty good thoughts about gravitation.  And, although I started out seeking the causes of gravitation, in the end I found I had a quantity of interesting items concerning Physics in general.  These Physics findings written herein are not a theory of gravitation.  They are important however, since they have relevance to understanding Physics and the Universe.

Today, Saturday, 09-30-2006, I have added a new separate sub section web page entitled Paradoxical Musing. On this page I take a look at some paradoxes in general, using some my own physics and math interpretations and ideas in the other writing within this web site. You might find it interesting how I get Zeno's arrow through its flight, or Achilles to the end of the race track.

(4/19/2006) Since these writings herein, I continue to think upon the subject matter...  Have I thought anything new, anything to change, a better way to explain?  The answer is yes to all three facets.  Thus some updating is in order.  As I do these revisions I will put in the dates as the beginning of this paragraph.  In this manner it is more recognizable where the revisions are located.

(4/19/2006) It is written that our scientists presently think the Sun and Solar system came into being about 4.5 to 5 billion years ago.  They also suspect that life on Earth began about 2 billion years ago.  I am going to try to portray some of my physics subjects herein at a time about 3 billion years ago prior, I assume to any carbon based life.  This period, would be when the Earth was more than swirling gases, but before life.  Elements in their forms of gases, liquids, and solids.  A time possibly of rocks, water, air, gravity, atoms, light, space, stars, meteors, comets...  But not any thoughts, language, measurements, or life as we know it.

The point of origin for my work of Polygonometry began while driving down the Long Beach Freeway in Southern California.  I was thinking about the definition of a circle as "an infinite sided regular polygon."  This led me to the thought: Maybe a square is just a four sided crude circle... ?  Then I went to: How do I substantiate a correlation between regular polygons and the circle?  I knew an exact proof was not possible, but could I find circumstantial evidence linking these figures?

An adventure began!  I had never been engrossed in math prior to this, but I found clarity, simplicity, understanding, and enjoyment in math I did not know existed.  I did alter a few basic concepts!  If you got through high school Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry... you can share in this adventure.

Not only is it math, but it covers items such as: How does a wheel roll?  Why does a hubcap mounted on a wheel, roll one revolution with the wheel, but when rolled separately for the same linear distance, requires more revolutions?  Why does a dime rolled once about the circumference of another fixed in place dime, actually turn 720 degrees, or two revolutions?  This and more...
