Energy is always
measured by the work done.
* * * *
If work is done and energy is expended to
accelerate a body against the resistance of Space... Then Space* must be
working and expending energy to oppose the accelerated motion of said body.
Resistance is usually the quality of a body
that is called inertia. In this case it is Space* resisting...
Might it be that Space* can have inertia?
If Space* is photons that are without mass
unless set into motion... it might have "effective" (next chapter for
effective) inertia, meaning it is only in action when the photons are being
forced to move.
This type of logic is part of why photons
seem to fit for Space* filler.
[* go to the chapter for my
concept of Space... being 3 D space contents... whatever it may be]

It seems pretty obvious that Energy existed three billion years ago and
beyond. However as I mentioned otherwise, Work, is not a common
place item of Earth way back then. So, the above definition of Energy
needs modifying.
If you read
what I wrote about Pressure, and Force; you will understand my usage and
definition of Pressure, as the only basic force.
Thus I now define Energy as:
The ability and capacity to cause the exertion of pressure by Universal
entities. Again, Energy is only an ability or capacity. And,
Energy is always a measure of expended pressure.
A measurement
of pressure is like pounds per square inch. But, like speed, in miles
per hour, it needs more to be useful. Pressure needs to be measured over
some duration to give some value in Energy, for mankind to describe. The
word and definition of Energy, is again something that was not required 3
million years ago___ things just happened without anyone calculating how much
Energy was expended. In electrical, power is
measure in watts, and over time is watt/hours for example. And I guess
there could be pressure measured as pound/hour or kilo/hour. I, however,
would like it to be more of a direct relation to something like light speed
distance, LSD. Pressure could be measured as Energy units of Kilo/LSDs
for example... This would make it more Universal.
It is
difficult to get away from Time. But, this type of time, if kept in
context, is just a comparison. Nothing more, quote the raven evermore...
For, three billion yore, nary a person had heard of Lenore.
